They definitely earned this 5-star review!

Dr. Ballard is great. That's all there is to it. However, since I like to elaborate, I'm gonna. I have seen several different kinds of optometrists; one was really bad (and creepy) and one was wonderful. I loved seeing him. Then my insurance changed and I could no longer see him. I was sad. Then we moved to Nashville and I became worried that I wouldn't be able to find anyone I was comfortable with seeing (I hadn't heard of Yelp yet). I got down to my last pair of contacts, and I wore those things out. About 6 months into that pair my eyes had had enough. I consulted Google and found Dr. Ballard's office. I could request an appointment online, and his office was barely 1/10 of a mile from my apartment. The receptionist is VERY good about calling to confirm your appointment. I requested the appointment after they were closed one night, but I had a voicemail waiting for me when I woke up the next morning. Dr. Ballard's office is in a little strip mall next to a Supercuts, but don't let that deter you (I am sometimes wary of doctor's offices in strip malls...it's because of where I'm from); his office is very nice. I was immediately greeted with "Hi, you must be Rachel!" when I walked in, and I was offered coffee while I waited. Had I wanted it, I wouldn't have been able to finish it. I didn't have to wait very long. I think it was less than five minutes. I was taken into a little room where they do all of those eye function and glaucoma tests. Unfortunately one those includes the machine that blows the puff of air in your eyes. Does anyone else hate that machine as much as I do? Then the technician (aide?) took me into the exam room to wait for Dr. Ballard. Again, I didn't wait very long. He came in, shook my hand, asked me a little bit about myself, and then began the exam. He was very thorough and made sure to explain everything to me. I liked him so much that I made my husband schedule an appointment with him, and he is now 'it' for us. His office staff is just as great as he is. I recently scheduled an appointment with him right before the year ended, and they called me to suggest that I schedule it for after the first of the year so that my benefits would be there to pay for my contacts. A lot of places would have just let me come spend the money that I didn't have. They definitely earned this 5-star review!
