Dr. Ballard has been practicing in the Nashville/Brentwood area since moving here from his home town of Memphis in 1995. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Memphis in 1991, and earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree in 1995 from the Southern College of Optometry, also located in Memphis. He completed internships at the Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center in Biloxi, MS, and the Dickson EyeHealth Center, in Dickson, TN, with an emphasis in ocular disease and primary eye health care. As a result of his personal experience with contact lens wear, Dry Eye Syndrome, LASIK laser vision correction, and Computer Vision Syndrome, Dr. Ballard has a special interest in providing care in these areas. Outside the office, Dr. Ballard enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf, and listening to live music. He is also frequently accused of being Ferris Bueller, and can occasionally be seen in the office dancing like Rick Astley.
