I was so glad that others had taken to Yelp, as I now choose my new doctors only by recommendations. Ballard Vision is a great place if you are looking for a new eye doctor. As someone new in town I wasn't sure where to turn and luckily Yelp reviews for Ballard Vision were great! I had my contact fitting and exam with Dr. Ballard and he was wonderful! Thorough, knowledgeable, friendly as can be and his staff were great as well! Amazing selection of frames also! I have to say I also loved that they had a specific seating area to try on contacts. May times you have to sit in the chair and try to do in the exam office. Not here. You have a nice table with mirror, and other necessities so it's easy to try on your contacts. My last eye doctor couldn't seem to get contacts that fit me well and so I actually ended up not wearing them for years. With Dr. Ballard the first ones he recommended were great. He really took the time to talk with about why I stopped wearing them and the issues I had before. Needless to say I am a contact wearer again, thanks to Dr. Ballard. All around great experience, glad to have found a new eye doctor!
I cannot gush enough about this place. Dr Ballard is always genuine, warm and always takes the extra time to have an actual conversation with me about whatever we end up getting to. Last time it was cruises! His office staff is equally as nice and so friendly. I'm really sad I don't live in Nash anymore but I plan to keep using his services when I'm in town. I will definitely be scheduling appointments for when I visit. That's how good it is!
Dr. Ballard and his staff are thorough, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Dr. Ballard listens to your needs as a patient and spends time with you to ensure those needs are met. I would highly recommend his practice!
Dr. Ballard is great. That's all there is to it. However, since I like to elaborate, I'm gonna. I have seen several different kinds of optometrists; one was really bad (and creepy) and one was wonderful. I loved seeing him. Then my insurance changed and I could no longer see him. I was sad. Then we moved to Nashville and I became worried that I wouldn't be able to find anyone I was comfortable with seeing (I hadn't heard of Yelp yet). I got down to my last pair of contacts, and I wore those things out. About 6 months into that pair my eyes had had enough. I consulted Google and found Dr. Ballard's office. I could request an appointment online, and his office was barely 1/10 of a mile from my apartment. The receptionist is VERY good about calling to confirm your appointment. I requested the appointment after they were closed one night, but I had a voicemail waiting for me when I woke up the next morning. Dr. Ballard's office is in a little strip mall next to a Supercuts, but don't let that deter you (I am sometimes wary of doctor's offices in strip malls...it's because of where I'm from); his office is very nice. I was immediately greeted with "Hi, you must be Rachel!" when I walked in, and I was offered coffee while I waited. Had I wanted it, I wouldn't have been able to finish it. I didn't have to wait very long. I think it was less than five minutes. I was taken into a little room where they do all of those eye function and glaucoma tests. Unfortunately one those includes the machine that blows the puff of air in your eyes. Does anyone else hate that machine as much as I do? Then the technician (aide?) took me into the exam room to wait for Dr. Ballard. Again, I didn't wait very long. He came in, shook my hand, asked me a little bit about myself, and then began the exam. He was very thorough and made sure to explain everything to me. I liked him so much that I made my husband schedule an appointment with him, and he is now 'it' for us. His office staff is just as great as he is. I recently scheduled an appointment with him right before the year ended, and they called me to suggest that I schedule it for after the first of the year so that my benefits would be there to pay for my contacts. A lot of places would have just let me come spend the money that I didn't have. They definitely earned this 5-star review!
For my first visit with Dr. Ballard, I called the office to get an appointment to get new contacts and to exam my irritated right eye. I was given a time slot for 30 minutes later, which I really appreciated. The office staff was friendly, and I only had to wait as long as it took me to fill out new patient forms. Dr. Ballard and his assistant immediately put me at ease during the exam and explained clearly what was going on with my eye issue, and gave me some drops to take care of it and instructions going forward. I had a follow-up visit a few days later to get a contact lens exam and had the same great experience. I left very impressed with Dr. Ballard and his staff, and I am very happy that I am under their care. I highly recommend Dr. Ballard to anyone.
My family has been going to Ballard Vision for many years. It's important to me to feel that we are known and cared for with any health care provider and that is definitely the case here.
I have always found that Dr. Ballard, his technicians, and office managers are top notch. It has been a bit hit and misses with the glasses store part of it, but not this time. The glasses store went way beyond what I expected with not only their courtesy but with their advice and customer friendly service.
I recently relocated to the Nashville area and needed to find an eye doctor because I have been wearing glasses since I was 5. I made an appointment via the online portal and the staff immediately contacted me to finalize everything. I was greeted very warmly upon walking into the office and the staff was very helpful, professional, thorough, and respected my time. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ballard and his team to everyone.

Great team. Everyone is friendly in explaining options and price. Dr. Ballard is great at explaining optic scans, eye changes and other factors involved in prescription choices. The blonde girl I worked with ( name escapes me sorry!) was great at helping me choose frame and lens options!

Quality, state of the art technology, a staff that is kind and caring, and Dr Ballard himself is amazing! He sees our entire family, ever since my youngest was 4 years old! Thorough exam, amazing use of technology which we can see all angles and any issues of our eyes...and NO DIALATION of the eyes needed with his equipment! A++

I had a great first visit with Dr. Ballard. He was friendly and there was a good selection of frames to choose from. Great location in proximity to my home. Overall, very satisfied.
Dr. Ballard is fabulous. He cares and takes his time with each patient. He really listens to you and makes certain you are happy. Sherree is also great. She is the best tech he has. She spends the time to make sure your frames fit properly and really works with you. Tracy isn't that great. She was not at all helpful to me. Go see Dr. Ballard. Make sure Sherree helps you select your frames and then fits your frames to your face.
